Several lawyers have already posted the following announcement on their Facebook pages:
“In respect of lawyers` dignity I say NO to the law draft designed by Ministry of Justice of RA aiming to import lawyers’ registry and paying annually 60.000 AMD state tax.
I proclaim that I will not register myself in the state registry and will not pay the state tax. I demand from Chamber of Advocates to refuse any kind of activity on state registry” – this is the text of the announcement that is signed and shared by advocates.
One should note that the suggestion was made by RA Government.
Previously Lawyer of Helsinki Association Gayane Khachatryan told Epress.am that the law draft is unacceptable and called it state racketeering.
