To family, friends and colleagues of Mika Danielyan
Date: 24 August 2018
To family, friends and colleagues of Mika Danielyan,
It has been two years since we lost our dear colleague Mika Danielyan. We send our warmest thoughts to his family, his friends, and his colleagues.
This year, as we celebrate the 20th anniversary for the human rights defenders declaration, Mika stands out as a unique, passionate, brave and courageous human rights defender, who was principled in his human rights approach and never compromised. In equal measures, Mika stood up for the unprotected while his warm and charismatic approach inspired many to join and continue the fight for justice.
We reflect on the greetings sent by members of Human Rights Houses two years ago, underlining that his death was a great loss for the entire human rights movement, and not only in the post-Soviet area.
Mika was seen as a passionate human rights defender and a reliable and trustful person. His ability to combine hard work and responsibility with love for life was mentioned in particular by several of his colleagues and friends in other Houses.
On behalf of everyone at HRHF, warmest wishes,
Maria
