Trial started against Samson Khachatryan

During the hearing, Zakaryan told the court of Khachatryan’s health problems. He filed a petition to the court to release Khachatryan on bail instead of keeping him detained as a precautionary measure. The court rejected the appeal.
On March 14th 2011, a criminal case was filed against Khachatryan under part 1 of Article 316 of the Criminal code of the Republic of Armenia (use of physical force against an authority figure which did not cause harm). Khachatryan said that he had hit a person in civilian clothing, who had been insulting and using force against women.
