The investigator Karen Nazaryan made an appointment on June 16, at 15:00. He was late for an hour, moreover without letting the witnesses and the lawyer in, he told them that he had to leave and that they would make another appointment later. However, he did not make any phone call. The investigator K. Nazaryan simply refused to accept the testimonies of witnesses and said, “Why shall I accept your testimonies, anyway, you will say that A. Hakobyan did not use swear words, did not hit the policemen and did not throw a cigarette at them”.

On 31 May, 2009 A. Akobyan, together with the group of observers representing Helsinki Association, visited the polling station No. 8/23 of Malatia-Sebastia district, Yerevan. The members and the head of the electoral commission prohibited them to carry out the monitoring process. The observer group was taken out from the polling station, and the door was locked. Therefore, the criminal case against S. Harutyunyan was discontinued. According to the judge’s decision S. Harutyunyan was in a mental hospital for rather a long time. He had been taken there forcibly in order to undergo forensic-medical examination.

The interesting fact was that the judge stated that the carriers were packed and sealed according to the law, and he suggested the parties to be certain of that. The parties rejected his suggestion and passed to the watching process. The content of other carriers allow the parties to suppose that that they were subjected to montage. The examination of carriers represented as “evidence” is not over yet.

The first trail of Alexander Arzumanyan, ex-minister of foreign affairs of Armenia and Suren Sirunyan began on April 08, 2009 at the Court of First Instance of Shengavit District, Yerevan.
